Paint the Town

Join us on Saturday, June 8th for Paint the Town! Approximately 750 volunteers will paint the exterior of 26 owner-occupied homes in Avondale and Evanston for those who are physically and/or financially unable to do the work themselves. More details, FAQs and registration below. After-party to follow event FAQs: What if I don’t have a “team” to paint on? No problem! Please select “General Volunteer” from the Team dropdown menu. We will find a house for you. What should I wear?
  1. You will be given a volunteer t-shirt upon check in, but otherwise you should wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on.
  2. Close toed shoes, no sandals or flip-flops
  3. Hat!
What about breakfast and lunch? A grab-and-go breakfast (with coffee!!) will be available during check-in/registration. Lunch will be delivered to your house. Houses will also will have snacks and water. We will also have pizza available at the after-party. Vegetarian options are available, but if you have any other dietary needs or restrictions, please plan to bring your own food. What should I bring with me?
  1. Reusable water bottle
  2. Sunscreen
  3. Hat
  4. Driver’s License (You will need this for a beer at the After Party!)
Where should I park? Volunteers will park at Walnut Hills High School, assemble in their teams and then board busses to their houses. We will email you the meeting location’s address and specific parking instructions the week of the event. Can I volunteer for only a partial day? Yes and no. Painting a house requires a full day commitment. If you are unable to paint for a full day, we have non-painting volunteer roles with various time commitments throughout the day. Please email [email protected] for more information. Can my relative/friend that is under 18 volunteer with me? No, all painting volunteers must be at least 18 years old. There are some non-painting volunteer roles suitable for a volunteer under 18 if they have a parent or legal guardian with them.
